For many years, The PK8 Chair existed only as a prototype in the home of Hanne Kjaerholm, the wife of Poul Kjaerholm. The PK8 was put into production in close collaboration with Hanne Kjaerholm and introduced to the public in connection with the 2007 exhibition about Poul Kjaerholm, The furniture architect, at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, north of Copenhagen

The PK8 Chair carries its sibling’s elegance, the PK 9 Chair yet the 3-legged aluminum base provides utmost support to the occupant. We are proud to have this replica in a high-quality reproduction.

Furnish Plus offers a wide range of variations of the PK8 Chair. The upholstery is available in cashmere textile or leather. The base is made of anodized, satin-brushed aluminium and a shell of PC/ABS plastic.

Lauded for his distinctive style of furniture design, Poul Kjaerholm was born in Øster Vrå, Denmark in 1929. His pieces are considered to contain a minimalist yet articulate form, all embossed with that signature style that continues to be celebrated worldwide to this day.With the humble beginning as a cabinetmaker's apprentice with the firm Gronbech in 1948, Kjaerholm went on to forge his design ideology at the Danish School of Arts and Crafts in Copenhagen. Shirking away from the majority of his Scandinavian counterparts, the Dane chose steel as his primary material of choice over wood. "Steel’s constructive potential is not the only thing that interests me, the refraction of light on its surface is an important part of my artistic work.”Awarded the prestigious Lunning Award and Grand Prize at the Milan Triennale in 1958 and 1960 respectively; Kjaerholm’s designs continue to be included in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and within numerous other museums across Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Germany.

This chair is perfect for my living room, I got a slightly cheaper deal since I ordered a set, if you are a family of 4 then should order the set will save you lots of money.

The delivery was awesome, the guy from this western logistics called us and even we didn’t pay for inside deli but the chairs were quite light they helped us bringing in, couldn’t thank enough. Great job!

This PK8 Chair is quite convenient since it looks like an office chair that I used both for working and dining. The cashmere is a bit not as smooth as I thought so maybe if you ordered go with the leather option

Me and husband are big fans of modern style and we saw a couple of chairs that look amazing on this website. This chair was just introduced like 2 weeks ago and when I asked they offered me some coupons which was so sweet. Our chairs got delivered by Day&Ross and they were very nice as well, called 24 hours to make sure we’re home. Great experience!
